    Pros

There are some terrific folks working at SSB!

    Cons

Salary, compensation levels are not 'retention' oriented. Many good, qualified folks have left for this reason. Management has not yet found a way to differentiate the company from ALL the other banks in the area - too any meaningful extent.

    Advice to Management

Hunter is retired. Dan Schrider is now President.

I worked at Sandy Spring Bancorp as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great working environment with a beautiful new building. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Other employees took the time to really get to know me and teach me different skills.

    Cons

I feel that a more structured intern program would greatly benefit Sandy Spring in the future.

    Advice to Management

Begin to search for younger talent to grow with the bank and make that a priority. Also, a shift from paper to digital sources would benefit everyone. I feel as if it would be a great investment for the bank and the employees in the long-run.
