I have been working at Sandy Spring Bancorp part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Training is good, emphasis on client service. They offer paid time off, even as a part time teller. Good job to work at while going to school

Cons

Working Saturday mornings in the branch; not much upward mobility. People tend to work at the company for a long time so not many job opportunites for recent grads. The hourly pay is a little less than at some other bigger name banks. The technology is a little outdated.

    Pros

There are some terrific folks working at SSB!

    Cons

Salary, compensation levels are not 'retention' oriented. Many good, qualified folks have left for this reason. Management has not yet found a way to differentiate the company from ALL the other banks in the area - too any meaningful extent.

    Advice to Management

Hunter is retired. Dan Schrider is now President.
