Pros

There are still some good people there, but more and more leaving all the time. Good place to develop life-long friendships.

Cons

Just is not the place it used to be. Employees have no confidence in new leadership. Opportunities for growth are missing because the business is contracting.

Advice to Management

Bring back the folksy leadership that motivated employees because they knew management cared. Replace unpopular top managers and let the rank and file employees know that everyone is accountable.

    Pros

Great place to work if you are just happy with getting a cheque every 2 weeks and don't care about getting anywhere in life.

    Cons

Bad Management, they care little for there workers and there is little communication and input with regards to new policy changes and the like.

The lead hands expect too much for the rate of pay you're getting.

No career advancement. You can work as hard as you like, but you're getting no further than the guy who is never there on Fridays and shows up late regularly.

    Advice to Management

Not much to say. More organization, better pay for the workers who do the most, and you guys seriously need to reconsider the way you only let 1 person vacation at a time. One person every 2 weeks isn't going to cut it. Only 1 person gets to see his family during Christmas? Come on..

I worked at Sauder Woodworking full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Start out pay and benefits are good now.

    Cons

If you have worked there before they raised the start out pay then new employees are walking in the door making what it took you years to make.

    Advice to Management

Be fair to the employees that's been working for you for years.
