I have been working at Save the Children full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Staff and management have very high standards for our work, in a way that's very inspiring. The work environment is flexible and supportive, with many allowances for working remotely.

Cons

Many people like the office location (Southern CT), but it's a con for me because I find it boring, expensive, and difficult to get to.

I worked at Save the Children full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Made some great friends, had some interesting travel opportunities. They felt like my family for the many years I worked there.

    Cons

Upper management--lots of changes. Getting used to the pace and vibe of new bosses all the time is tiring, and also affects one's ability to move up. Layoffs and restructuring seems to happen every few years.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on the talent you already have.

I worked at Save the Children as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Encourages independent work, gives plenty of opportunities to allow intern to apply the knowledge he/she gained in an academic setting. Great company culture. Results-oriented. Diversity is welcomed.

    Cons

Not many opportunities for career growth as intern. Diversity across generations (Baby Boomers, X, Y) was not prevalent.
