    I worked at Saxbys part-time

    Pros

    Great training and work environment.

    Cons

Kinda hard to work up the ladder if you are a full time student. Training really isn't held on weekends.

    Advice to Management

Hold more training sessions for high school students.

If you want the traditional barista experience with a touch of coffee chain management, Saxbys is the happy medium. Not everything is streamlined (yet) and you still learn how to be a traditional barista. You still pull the espresso shots, steam the milk, etc. You gain familiarity with the overall cafe operations. The work culture is one of the best - team members are just generally very open and communicative.

      Cons

A lot of prep work goes into house made sauces, grab and go food, and general cafe upkeep. For the money that the company rakes in, they could definitely increase pay. Some tasks are very unconventional for the work you would expect as a barista.
