      I have been working at Saxbys part-time for less than a year

      Pros

      If you want the traditional barista experience with a touch of coffee chain management, Saxbys is the happy medium. Not everything is streamlined (yet) and you still learn how to be a traditional barista. You still pull the espresso shots, steam the milk, etc. You gain familiarity with the overall cafe operations. The work culture is one of the best - team members are just generally very open and communicative.

      Cons

      A lot of prep work goes into house made sauces, grab and go food, and general cafe upkeep. For the money that the company rakes in, they could definitely increase pay. Some tasks are very unconventional for the work you would expect as a barista.

      Advice to Management

      Don't cut labor when cafe is still profitable. Understand that your employees are your greatest assets and a happy, loyal worker is what makes a business stand out not just to the guests but as a testament to the work culture. Allow for flexibility within shifts and know that while anchoring encourages responsibility, sometimes it can inhibit optimal operation. Increase pay differential between hosts and baristas as...
