Pros

A variety of fascinating projects with the top clients in the country; extremely talented people, mostly friendly; extremely talented leadership

Cons

Some of the best performers get bogged down in petty politics; feedback is spotty, and infrequent; praise is often given to those who beg for it, and not those who deserve it; leadership is very detached from the work, and their availability is infrequent; some shining stars have tarnished because of lack of motivation after reviews

Pros

Brilliant people, cutting edge projects, career propelling awards from projects, clean and modern work space, there are no clicks, there is no bullying, there is no humiliation, upper management are positive and famous industry pioneers, you have a voice with the power to make changes to anything you feel necessary, very fast career advancement (i.e. Designer to Senior Motion Designer to Art Director to Head of UIX Group)

Cons

Although the work is heavy digital design and motion graphics, the work is more geared towards UI animations, internal use animations and finished design packages for web and UIX products. Very few motion graphic projects for television and film.

Pros

On the whole, a good atmosphere to work in. Overall, the employee base is loaded with talent and expertise. I would say the capability maturity of Schematic is much higher than nearly all other major companies that I have had experience working with in this particular industry. They have way beyond normal appreciation and recognition given to technical skill and expertise. Most others in this space don't really care about that stuff (which is hard to believe but very true).

Cons

There seemed to be a bit too much drama between the cubicles. There is a surprisingly high amount of colleague criticism that isn't totally warranted. Schematic also manages their development risks and costs very tightly which seems to stifle some of the creativity that their competitors are known for.
