Pros

good wages, benefits and holiday schedule. Get to machine some very nice parts for subsea robotics and work with newer machines.

Cons

management doesn't understand how a manufacturing facility should or can work and is hampering the production of their new facility.

Advice to Management

listen to what the workers on the floor making things happen. they know how to get the job done if you give them a chance to do it.

    Pros

The people are great at Schilling. The company works hard to maintain a good culture, and as a result the employees are deeply invested in the success of the company.

    Cons

With the downturn in the oil industry, FMC insisted that the group still must make budget, so the Houston and Singapore offices were closed as well as most of Aberdeen, and many people were laid off. When the company was owned by Tyler Schilling, we would have just accepted that ours is a cyclical business and you can't make great profits every year. Now that Tyler has moved out of management, it has become solely a numbers game and the remaining employees are much less happy.

    Advice to Management

You've still got a great company and brand. Remember your employees are what makes the brand. I don't know how to push back more on FMC, but somehow it must be done.
