I have been working at Schlumberger full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great chances of moving up in your Career,
    Great benefits,
Pay depending on Country of residence,
    Often Extremely nice co-workers,
Travel to some of the most remote regions of the world.
Training & if your immediate boss likes you then training in other sectors as well.
    Great atmosphere on sites.
Help & Offices almost anywhere in the world.

    Cons

Seismic "Engineers" often overly cocky because they believe they were hand picked by Schlumberger from University.
You are just a number, don't be fooled into thinking you are special in the grand scheme of the company.
    Often no direction from management.
Management is organised in such a way that you will never be able to talk to anyone who has the power or ability to change what you want.
Little chance of moving into another field within the company.
I have never met the managers above my direct managers.
    RED TAPE!
No idea who the CEO is at times occasionally see a photo, never met him.

    Advice to Management

Easier System to identify the managers above you would be helpful, current ldap is good if the photo is available for when you go to the office you know you are speaking to the right person, however often this is not the case.
Understandably the red tape makes it hard for anything to be done, but keep up the good work.

I worked at Schlumberger full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to learn and gain experience. Good working environment and meet people from all over the world. QHSE policies encapsulated in the work culture.

    Cons

The way people are treated during economic downturn when staffing had to be reduced. It was tough for me to sit and tell an employee that 'today is your last day of work. All your access to the network will be canceled by the end of the day'

    Advice to Management

If the company values are firstly PEOPLE, then followed with Technology and Profits, then, at least figure out a way to keep people at bay instead of letting them go. Otherwise, they will eventually get recruited again due the their competencies and proven abilities to do work but their heart and loyalty will no longer be with the company.
