Pros

Good benefits, pay is fair, operating centers are plentiful, helpful staff, good maintance shops located at operating centers, various accounts to choose

Cons

old equipment, bonus critiria is difficult to obtain, too much sitting around waiting on loads, bad food at operating centers

Advice to Management

take care of your drivers first. Retetion of good, safe drivers is vital. Don't expect drivers to not idle in 100+ degree weather and don't hold it against them with reduced or denial of bonuses

    Pros

SNI operating centers are welcoming. The clean showers, and free laundry facilities are appreciated. The fuel desk staff at most of the operating centers are friendly, helpful, and often go above and beyond to help drivers passing through.

    Cons

Team leaders constantly talk about how important it is for drivers to "communicate, communicate, communicate" but they do not communicate with us. Insurance benefits are far below mid-market for the industry. Bonus pay is impossible to earn unless you are willing to sacrifice personal comfort and time at home. I was told I would run at least 2500 miles per week and often barely get 1000. Two extra days out this past week got me up to 2300. No raises to drivers who do not earn two quarterly bonuses, and no pay for empty miles home. So dead heading me 90+ miles home counts as out-of-route miles which will (along with idle hours to stay cool enough to rest during breaks or long waits for loading or unloading) disqualify me for any bonus. Hold times on the phone can often last 15 to 30 minutes. Phones calls are routed to support shift too early each day. Customer information is too often lacking correct information such as contact phone numbers, whether or not parking is allowed on site, appt. times are given for companies who work on a fcfs basis, and on and on it goes.

    Advice to Management

Stop over loading our leaders. Too many of them complain of the increased work load with no increased compensation. Too many really good people have been let go and replaced with lesser qualified, lower paid, "yes" people. We have been told "this is no longer a family business". None of us believe you when you say "safety first" or "we appreciate our drivers". Actions speak louder than words. Our boards push us to give up time at home so they can make their numbers and earn their bonuses. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Whoever wrote that the one "con" of the company is all the inside promotions that then seem to cause large turnovers in certain departments is totally unbelievable. The huge turnover comes from being lied to about everything.
