I worked at Scottrade full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

"Best company to work for" There was previous great internal communication. It's a great start for a new worker. The culture is still better than most. A day off to volunteer and Money contributed for volunteering. Their internship program was very helpful. They're trying to get more competitive, and are successfully doing so, but changing their expectations of staff along the way and not appreciating the leaps and bounds they have made.

    Cons

Losing sight of it's small company family-style approach. They don't care about their employees the way they used to. There is very little room to move up locally, or expect to move closer to home even though there are locations around the U.S. Affected by the need to cut back intern hours or have to pay benefits. This puts their young staff in a frustrating position.

    Advice to Management

Bring back some of the things that make your long-term employees so committed to the company before they all leave and you lose the loyalty that helped build the company from the ground based on amazing customer service. Provide some flexibility with hours of branch associates and tie in a way to help them reap the benefits of growing their branch based on what you grew your company on.
