I have been working at Scratch DJ

    Pros

Despite the lacking pay and competence of management, Scratch Academy (as opposed to their events/corporate division) is a great place to work. It's an ideal place for a college student and great for picking up other DJ's tips, tricks, and tunes. The community feeling between employees and with the Academy's students is great.

    Cons

Extreme disorganization. Myriad amounts of schedule conflicts, unforseen nuances, and mess. At times, employees feel like these things are beyond their control, which they often are.

    Advice to Management

The coming move to a new location in order to accommodate the need for more office space should be rethought carefully. Though Scratch Events and the Scratch Academy are under the same parent company, there is really no need for the two to be in the same physical building. A move in that direction would be a loss for both sides; the need for greater office space will sacrifice Academy space and resources, and visa... versa.
