Positive Outlook

I have been working at Sealed Air Corporation as an intern (More than a year)

Pros

JohnsonDiversey was a great place to work because it was owned by the Johnson Family. The benefits were great and the corporate culture is very welcoming. They have strong core values and believe in work-life balance. It is definitely a top place to work in the Southeastern Wisconsin area.

Cons

Since the Johnson family sold the company, the acquisition has provided many challenges to the legacy Diversey business. Many employees have left and much knowledge has been lost. The benefits are not as good and the Sturtevant location is no longer the Global Headquarters.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Sealed Air Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent management and team approach to winning. The brand loyalty is strong and the level of innovation to provide customers is top notch. There are many resources with flexibility to create opportunity and processes to allow focused and targeted growth.

    Cons

Expectations and budgets are very high and can be unreasonable. Expect to work a minimum of 60 hours a week. Territories are very large and you will be spread thin.

    Advice to Management

Top management and structure is sound, but support positions and resources to assist are unorganized. Hire people to handle more regional and sector aligned tasks allowing customer facing people to spend more time interacting with end users and to deliver on budgets.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Sealed Air Corporation (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great people and good mid-management. Positive changes in recent Senior management announcements and hope they can pull it off. Leader in Packaging & innovation.

    Cons

Current CEO (BH) has no vision and no leadership, Is a micro manager that shouldn't have lasted this long. Company loosing focus and moving away from its core competency. Loosing good talent to internal struggle between Old Sealed Air and Diversey management.

    Advice to Management

Focus on employees and customer and supplier relationships. Supply Chain structure is dysfunctional in North America. Need a big shake up in IT. Took too long to implement SAP and result is a poor implementation. In-source and consolidate Shared Service Centers and outsource IT operation. HR or P&P structure is a joke and need a BIG shake up.... only helped support pay-raise to senior management and everyone else left behind.
