I worked at Sears part-time (More than a year)

Pros

I got experience with customers, cashier, stocking and I did a variety of merchandising

Cons

No teamwork, managers depend on cashiers too much

Advice to Management

They should give employees a reason for ambition

    The people are good, smart and hard working;irregardless the organization has no focus

    Cons

    No advancement, raised, benefits taken away from employees. Hostile work environment because of no strategic vision.

    I have been working at Sears full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Very experienced retail veterans from department stores, specialty, mass discounters and everything in between. The knowledge is there to create a turnaround.

    Cons

    Too much "red tape" to work through before a decision can be made. Many things are delayed or made obsolete due to the amount of time it takes to approve spending.

    Advice to Management

    Make Sears and Kmart relevant again. There are very few reasons for customers to pick us over the competition.
    Understand our customer base and cater to them.
