I worked at Sears part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Theres alot of downtime, most managers are laid back. You have the ability to work at your own pace.

Cons

The pay is stiff. Advancement is near impossible without working there at least 5+ years

I worked at Sears full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Once in a management position they pay you 30+ a year.

    Cons

Everything about the company is a failure. The company is going under and their business practices are what's killing the company. Completely backwards.

  2. "Toxic environment"

I worked at Sears part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Based on my time spent there, I have very little positive to say about the place. Flexible scheduling is probably the strongest suit, at least at the store at which I worked. Lower and some department managers were good--but too much micro managing from the top. When a manager spends his/her entire career with one company they lose a grip on the realities of the market.

    Cons

    Archaic management style.
Too much emphasis on processes and not on customers or associates.
    Poor pay.
    Horrible morale.

    Advice to Management

Read some books on management in the 21st century. Heck, even the 20th would work.
