I worked at Sears part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Benefits, training, great teams on the floor. Pay is ok but competitive at least for starting positions.

Cons

Depending on managers, not a lot of hours. There is no consistent schedule week to week.

I have been working at Sears full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Craftsman tools are awesome, and have a great, loyal, passionate following. Love to work with people who use our tools

    Cons

The policies and practices of Sears are counter intuitive to running a successful business in todays business climate. They are not growing customers, so running away just 1 customer a day is going to ruin them.

    Advice to Management

Stop promoting practices and policies that anger and irritate customers, there are a finite amount of them and they are slowly bleeding off to other stores. Simplify, do not aggravate.

I worked at Sears full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The Sears name seemed to be the strongest reason to work for Sears Home Improvements.

    Cons

Very poor leads given to sales force. Telemarketers paid by appointments set. No true vetting of leads. Leads given to multiple sales people. Pricing extremely high on all products. Not competitive with other contractors.

    Advice to Management

Bring pricing in line with fair market. Do not rely on customers who have no other options than using a Sears Credit Card.
