I have been working at Sears part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Great pay for what you work for. Work atmosphere is great. Direct management is very knowledge on your job and a great resource for any of your questions. Management is very flexible with your schedule as I was attending college at the same time.

Cons

Black Friday. Management really gets down on you to get credit card sales. Odd hours.

I worked at Sears full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent salary. Hardworking and loyal hourly associates. Good opportunity for an initial big box SGM role. Corporate training in Chicago is exemplary but does not trickle down to the store level.

    Cons

Panicked District Management, Incessant pressure to perform in areas beyond your control. (example - "you need to increase foot traffic in your building." - really? DMs who play politics instead of getting the job done.

    Advice to Management

When you kill the bonus program for 90% of the management in the company - telling us its "an exciting new program" doesnt fool anyone. District Managers have no intergrity with metrics.

I worked at Sears full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Working as a Certified Pharmacy Technician for the pharmacy department. I enjoyed serving MY customers and THEY appreciated me.
Miss the customers that I helped every day.

    Cons

Low and "capped" wages for hourly employees. Long-term employees are not viewed as an asset by management/corporate. Poor scheduling throughout the store left no "bodies" to provide ANY service, let alone CUSTOMER service- - - driving the customers that did wander through the doors to run right back out.

    Advice to Management

Good Luck with this company as your "last job" previous experience on your next resume!
