Great company. Advertising more about products would help.

    I worked at Sears part-time

    Pros

Simple, mindless, no managers breathing down your neck

    Cons

Only pay minimum wage; no negotiation, co-workers and team leads refused to train new employees, was promised 20 hours per week and was only given half of that, completely ignored by upper management

    Advice to Management

Make sure the people who have working for you are friendly to both customers and co-workers. Ensure that new employees receive training. Don't trust someone making minimum wage to train a new employee in the correct manner. If you are going to guarantee a minimum number of hours to a new employee, ensure that those hours are given. Also, if an employee comes to you with a problem, fix it instead of gossiping about it.

I worked at Sears part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

20% Employee Discount and my management was fairly flexible with my hours at the time

    Cons

Horrible turn-over rate for most positions (especially cashiers), managers care more about pushing Sears cards down the customers throat than providing good customer service, they have unreal expectations of employees for such a poor paying job, and don't expecting raises considering I ended a 7 year run at the company making only minimum wage.

    Advice to Management

If you want your employees to put in good quality work then treat them with respect and don't shove unreal expectations down their throat, otherwise don't wonder why your company is failing and you can't keep an employee past a month. Give recognition where it is deserved.
