I have been working at Sears full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

For a time, I had an excellent manager and was able to create a career path with a lot of support. There is a lot of opportunity to take on a lot of diverse and interesting projects in a very fast paced environment.

Cons

Budgets were cut and soon additional training and career development was no longer offered. Often promotions for additional work being done were not followed through with even after being promised.

Advice to Management

Treat your employees well and compensate them accordingly.

I worked at Sears part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

HR Staff and cashiers were nice

    Cons

Job relied on how many credit card signups we got.

    Advice to Management

Stop worrying about credit cards and worry about making customers happy.

    Pros

Flexible schedule, relaxed environement, coworkers were good

    Cons

Company is ran terrible. Never give raises but also wont fire you except something huge (like stealing maybe?) so motivation to do well is very little. Store managers could be good or bad but corporate is a joke.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees and stores. Stop taking the cheap way out and depending on the long but very diminishing image of Sears.
