"As an Electronic Sales Rep at Sears, it was a decent experience-- just don't expect a huge paycheck."

    Pros

Great way to get experience in commissioned sales! The experience helped me get a much better job-- at a another company.

    Cons

Low pay (both commission and base pay); New employees will find even less commission options; Low opportunity for advancement, Low opportunity for full-time employment (It's almost luck); sales environment in neighboring departments creates a hostile sales environment.

    Advice to Management

It obvious that the company is showing low signs of life, but it needs a new coat of paint. Even if extra stores needs to be closed, the stores are in desperate needs of an update. Employees also need to have a better access to commission and advancement opportunities.

I worked at Sears full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some good coworkers, used position as a "stepping stone" to further career.

    Cons

High turnover and long employment process means lack of associates. Poor management and low pay gives associates a "don't care" attitude. Outdated facilities and nonfunctioning equipment frustrating for customers and associates. Expected to meet unrealistic credit app. and reward card goals.

    Advice to Management

Don't treat the auto center as if it is another dept. of the store, it is NOT retail. We are here to service customers vehicles, that should be the no. 1 priority. Being shortstaffed we don't always have time to push unwanted credit and SYWR cards. More automotive advertising and shorten the employment process. BETTER PAY to attract and retain quality employees.
