I have been working at Sears full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Sears is one of the leading retailers when it comes to innovation and technology. The chairman is on board to do a lot of experimental stuff to try and revolutionize the industry.

Cons

There are a lot of politics and some of the people are really discouraged and negative because of the poor financial results

Advice to Management

Please improve our compensation package. Our insurance options are expensive and they suck. And you don't do any matching into a 401K? Why would I invest in the company savings plan if you are not even willing to invest in it with me?

I worked at Sears full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Well, a couple of my friends worked with me. Same store.

    Cons

Everything. From upper management to the cleaning crew.

    Advice to Management

    Shut down!

I worked at Sears part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedules, you can usually get whatever you assuming your manager likes you. Steady paycheck and guaranteed hours. Customers can be really stupid.

    Cons

I had to do the work of two people for minimum wage and never got a raise. I could get more hours if I wanted and get paid to mess around, but it is retail. Some managers can be clueless. It won't help you in the long run in your career. There is some unmotivated, uneducated folk there that can make work depressing. Get your degree in something useful and run!

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. They are the ones that interact with the customer and keep them returning. Happy employee equals a happy customer. Stop that college graduate business program. Those managers get in with zero experience and more than likely zero leadership skills.
