I have been working at Sears part-time (More than a year)

Pros

The people in your same position are cool. Associates under the bosses all ban together and talk horrible things about the superiors.

Cons

A bunch of negatives! Too hard of a job for the little pay. The customers already hate you when they walk in. Micro-managing -_- Human Resources, more like human gossiping. Too much stress for such an unimportant job. Horrible manager attitude.

I worked at Sears part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers were friendly and it is a familiar environment since I grew up shopping at Sears.

    Cons

While I was initially impressed by all the new technology and software Sears has adopted in recent years I quickly learned that the different software programs that they use are not designed to work together, the inventory system is unreliable and the POS system is antiquated. Their store displays look like they are stuck in the 60's. The big push to do more sales on-line is being done in a manner that competes directly with in-store sales. Eventually, stores will become showrooms for products that customer buy on-line and have delivered to their homes. Think twice before working on commission because you will simply end up demonstrating a product but not making the sale.

    Advice to Management

Management appears to be mostly older white males who are looking forward to retirement within the next couple of years. By adopting newer technology into their stores they may be trying to give the appearance that they are in-step with the modern age. In fact, the hardware and software they have implemented are not designed to work together well. One indication of how incompatible these programs were is that employees have to remember at least 6 different passwords to use the different programs available for their use. Of course, very few people can become proficient in all the programs that are in use. The result is that the projected benefits of all the new technology that has been implemented in the past few years will never be realized.

I worked at Sears part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Absolutely nothing, there was nothing good about this place.

    Cons

Management is a JOKE! Bunch of classless, uneducated people who I have no idea how they ever got promoted to management. They speak like they didn't pass 8th grade. They are rude and condescending to employees and customers alike. Spend more time outside smoking than actually working. NO leadership whatsoever in this company.

    Advice to Management

GROW UP!!! Learn how to speak to people! And maybe, quit smoking, it makes you look so trashy.
