Pros

I enjoyed the comradery and family-like environment Sedo offers. You get the sense that your co-workers care about you as a person beyond your job functions at the organization. I was consistently impressed at the relationships I developed within my team and beyond. And that's not an easy feat considering a big portion of my time with the company was spent fully remote with not a lot of overlap schedule-wise with my direct team due to time zone differences. I was always encouraged to vocalize my ideas and approaches to things while also very early on trusted to carry out vital company communications initiatives. I think that speaks to the organization as well as my own comfort level in working independently. If ever a time I wanted to collaborate or needed support with something, that was always available. I learned so much during my time with Sedo and was encouraged to pursue continuing education opportunities as well as attend conferences and events that expanded my expertise and knowledge base. The "global" aspect of the company is very much a virtue that is encouraged among the employees as well as something that benefits customers. They have a very well-organized exchange program among the office locations where employees have an opportunity to extended periods of time living and working within another office's location. That is something not many other companies make available to their employees. These experiences not only shaped professionally but also personally and developed relationships that will withstand the test of time! Lastly, I prioritize the quality of life and work/life balance ahead of some other aspects professionally. With that, Sedo always supported me with any sort of modifications that arose to my schedule. I had my son while working with them and was able to take an extended period of time off and then return to work part-time. It was important to me to maintain a balance as a new mother but also have the ability to continue to develop professionally. Sedo was more than willing to support me in what can be a very challenging time for a new parent.

Cons

The average salary is not as high as one would expect in comparable positions but the other benefits in the company always outweighed this aspect for me. I do think visibility into pay increases and overall knowledge of company strategy definitely improved from my start with the company. There can be some disconnect between the two offices but that is usually more attributed to logistical differences such a being in different time zones, etc. Internal communication and visibility into company inner-workings definitely improved during my nearly eight-year tenure. The "growing" pains of company growth affect most organizations. But Sedo seems to grow with ease considering it was started as a grad school project and is now one of the most prominent international presences within the domain sales and services industry.

Pros

Good people, Friendly Atmosphere, Exchange Program, snacks, drinks

Cons

-Company has failed to grow with the times. Whereas they were once the market leaders, they've regressed to the middle of the pack playing catch-up -Severely understaffed and people just don't care. Management has chosen to over look the needs of individual teams in the name of efficiency and cost reduction. Simple issues can take months to get resolved. -Software infrastructure is also outdated, and while they are trying to fix it, still is years behind. They are unrealistic as to how strong their systems are as they believe it's an strength. -Extremely low pay compared to other SAAS company which has hurt them when attracting talent. The innovation is gone because we have failed to attract talent. Benefits are also extremely low compared to other in the Boston area. Several of the best and most senior people in the company has left in the last years plus, simply due to being underpaid and their absences have been felt. Company knowledge is getting lost. -Internal promotion is non-existent as they do not believe in investing in talent within the company, often going with outside canidates with more experience. No assistance in career development. -NDA effectively destroys your career in the industry if you choose to leave -Class hierarchy between Boston/Koln, as although revenue are similar the Boston office is lower on the totem pole, and gets treated as a black sheep
