Pros

Great Pay, profit sharing, advancement opportunities, major holidays off, discounts at some surrounding stores/retails

Cons

Stressful work environment, high level of pressure put on management team from higher ups and most importantly - no family life (60+ hours a week)

Advice to Management

Being a production driven industry, high stress level is expected, but working people like robots and expecting the same results after the labor they adhere to for 12+ hours is inhuman.

    I have been working at Serta full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Serta has a pretty decent benefits package.

    Cons

    There is no leadership at the plant level. Those in charge have no idea how to communicate with their employees, much less motivate them or lead them. Management is also sexist when it comes to how they treat the female supervisors and office workers. In addition, the sales staff are treated on a higher level then everyone else. For example, sending over $5k on a "quarterly meeting" when it is nothing more then a bunch of white men drinking and golfing. Oh and sales staff get free beds while EVERYONE else has to pay.

    Advice to Management

    Stop wasting company money. Why should a sales manager be allowed to charge for mileage to come pick up a check when it can be easily mailed? Remember that without production staff there would be nothing for the sales team to sell so why are they treated like kings? Stop discriminating against females and finally QUIT giving away money and products oh and stop allowing the sales team to send money as if grows on trees.

    Pros

    You can buy mattresses from them for little cost.

    Cons

    There is NO WORK/LIFE balance.

    Advice to Management

    Treat employees with respect and not like robots. Some plant managers are dictators, not managers, and like to "operate" by using threats, abusive language and outright hostility. Employee BEWARE! Upper management turns a blind eye.
