Pros

ServiceSource has the ability to hire cool people, that are fun to work with
I made a lot of friends working there
Hours are 8-5
Beers on Fridays at 4 (this might be done, though)

Cons

No opportunity for career advancement
Promotions only tend to come up when people leave
They are always looking for a cheaper way of doing things
Micromanagement is usually the way

Advice to Management

Figure out a way to develop employees, and give them a career path, rather than a job for a couple years

    Pros

    Great culture - very no-nonsense with clear focus on performance and rewards for those who do; commitment to community and giving back has become stronger over the past few years and is part of the DNA.
    Opportunities abound - growth is rapid, so career opportunities pop up in various parts of the org; never a dull day; for people who get excited by new projects & challenges, it's energizing
    Solid management - managemnet team seems to genuinely care about the employees; very seasoned and smart group of people; very committed to company's success
    Huge opportunity - big market, and just beginning to unfold

    Cons

    Fast-paced can also mean challenging work-life balance. Performance is a top priority and when customer quarter ends loom high, it'sall hands on deck
    Culture can be too aggressive for some. Must be thick skinned to succeed here.
    Growth pains - company is grwoing fast and trying to do a lot. Can be overwhelming and decisions made sometimes too quickly

    Advice to Management

    Stay focused on what really matters. Prioritize the most important stuff and let some things slide. Delegate more to middle management and work harder to empower employees.

    Pros

    Fair pay.
    Good entry level job.
    Good "9-5" hours.
    Relaxed culture.

    Cons

    Awful communication between teams, management and leadership.
    Lack of appreciation for the skills required to do a great job.
    Very large knowledge and competence gap between management and employees. If I died tomorrow, no one within management could come close to doing my job.
    Lack of true compensation for any extra effort that's put in.

    Advice to Management

    While this may be a great first job out of college, I would prefer a workplace that cares about its employees both from a management position and an HR position. The fact that within a publicly traded company, all management from lower to senior levels and human resources are unable to provide insight, knowledge and caring is sad when it seems this is the foundation the company wants to stand on. You probably have a 50/50 shot of being placed in a good situation, but for myself, it's been an awful job that has effected my quality of life.
