Pros

The organization has a relatively laid back atmosphere. Not too much pressure is placed on the day to day activities of the employees.

Cons

The organization has a myopic vision for the future, or at least as communicated to the employees from upper management. There is very little employee turnover, so many ideas are old and non-progressive.

Advice to Management

Demonstrate leadership by communicating long term plans through the ranks and acting upon stated plans.

    I have been working at Severn Trent Services (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Holidays. Pays my mortgage!!!! Sick pay. Good work colleagues. Good for building leg muscles as there is a lot of treading water and back peddling.

    Cons

    No one listens ever. Sets up work groups every few years to make changes and it never changes. Managers that are chosen for their ability to say yes rather than knowledge and experience. Promises progression and training that never happens because of this change or that change.

    Advice to Management

    Employ managers that will sometimes say no and tell you the facts instead of pushing everyone to breaking point and then blame the employees. Very poor behaviours from most managers I should know!!!!!!

    Recognition and knowledge of various activities.

    Cons

    No place of growth and a lot of politics. Top management were always absent. A lot of inside islands.
