I worked at Seyfarth Shaw full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Seyfarth Shaw provides generous benefits. The non-legal staff is shown regular appreciation with lunches, etc. The staff are for the most part wonderful to work with.

Cons

High pressure environment, especially for technology staff. Some attorneys require a great deal of patience to work with. Los Angeles office is dictated to by home office in Chicago.

Advice to Management

The Los Angeles office is on its way to improvement thanks to the new managing co-partner. I hope it continues. Good luck with the technology.

I worked at Seyfarth Shaw full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good in-house training and opportunities to learn new computer applications; convivial staff; very involved in pro bono and suppor of non-profit events.

    Cons

Growing too fast. Has lost that "small town" feel. Not the best at giving merit-based bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Some department managers are fair to all staff. Others have their favorites who receive the extra overtime and special treatment.
