Pros

The sales team usually helps each other out. It is a good place to start in terms of sales because they offer in-depth training and really give you the knowledge to succeed. The discount is pretty good too.

Cons

While they advertise "no pressure sales," there is definitely pressure for the sales team to sell. They have very little tolerance for letting customers leave empty handed. They are all about getting the sale done on day one. They always push to have the Salesperson get the merchandise on layaway at very least. And they are very focused on their own numbers, which fail to take into account the fact that customers like to shop around a bit before making a purchase that can cost thousands of dollars.

Advice to Management

Don't Forget that diamond rings are a huge investment. They cost a lot of money, and most customers appreciate trust and honesty more than being pushed to put a ring on layaway.

I worked at ShaneCo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay is pretty good (which management throws in your face), most customers are so sweet and so much fun to work with. After all its usually a special occation that brings them in. Its rewarding to be apart of something so special like getting engaged or celebrating an anniversary. Company does treat most customers as VIP

    Cons

The management team was completely disorganized (even with themsselves), unprofessional, lacking knowledge in the products, micro manage (from your hair all the way to your socks/knee highs). Management is constintly putting you down, your character, your work capabilities, they indirectly threaten you to not go out with your co-workers outside of work, if you dont keep up with sales you will lose your job. No stability/no growth. NO BREAKS!!! Unless its convienent for management. Lunches are never taken ontime according to the law. Bottom line, they treazt their workers like they are a dime a dozen and with little to no respecct.

    Advice to Management

There is so much time/money that is invested into the workers so instead of forcing them to leaeve due to harassment, strive to keep their top sales people happy so they stay and work harder.
