I have been working at Sherwin-Williams full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Great benefits, good pay, and good people.

Cons

Open sundays :-( open till 7. Sometime having to stay to close the store by myself being a girl can be very scary and it makes the company loom like they dont take into account the female employees as much.

Advice to Management

Please eliminate sundays from the working schedule.
And please appreciate your female employees more

    Pros

Run your own business without being micromanaged

    Cons

Retail is good right out of college, but it's hard to envision myself in retail when I'm in my mid 30's and 40's.

    Advice to Management

Sales reps need to be managed more.

I have been working at Sherwin-Williams full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Sherwin Williams has great employee benefits. The company's stock has soared ever since I started with the company nearly 9 years ago.

    Cons

I started in their Management Training Program with the promise of getting promoted to Assistant Manager within a year and Store Manager one to two years later. Although I was quickly assigned to my first Assistant Manager position within 3 months, I have not been able to get promoted after eight years, being turned down several times in that time frame.

    Advice to Management

Have better incentive and bonus structure and look more carefully for the best available employee, not just to diversify because of skin color or gender.
