Pros

As stated by a previous commenter, there are some exceptional people here who are friendly and willing to share their knowledge

Cons

Work-life balance is poor. The threat of layoffs is ever present and used to motivate salaried employees to work long hours and put work ahead of family. This is somewhat justified by annual bonuses. Unfortunately the company has a habit of getting rid of many new employees prior to the end of the fiscal year so as to avoid actually paying out these bonuses to them. Job security is a constant concern for this reason but also because of uncertainties relating to the future of renewables. The solar tax break is scheduled to be reduced soon which could be disastrous for this company and others like it. This company is poorly structured and very little training or communication occurs. The expectation is that you will figure things out on your own and not ask too many questions.

Pros

Honestly, the changes Signal has been making within the last year has changed my perspective on the company. A lot of great things are coming. The chance to move up has become reachable no matter what gender you are.

Cons

I don’t have nothing bad to say.

Pros

Good work life balance. Coworkers on the same level as you are generally nice to work with.

Cons

Poor organization between departments, virtually no opportunity for a raise unless you threaten to quit for a better offer. Stingy PTO/sick da/federal holiday policy. Company is not in a position to encourage growth or even meet bonus structure. A lot of repeat or unnecessary work due to lack of connection between software and departments as well as constructive feedback not being taken by mgmt. Pay is below average for solar and worse for women. Lack of diversity.
