    Pros

Employee Scholar Program allows employees to further their education at any accredited university. Sikorsky has competative wages compared with other manufacturers

    Cons

Sikorsky would rather be a final completions operation than manufacturing. Heavily outsource components. Quality control issues since components are not manufactured in house.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to employees
Keep manufacturing in house rather than outsourcing
Don't put all of your eggs in one basket and expect to keep a steady work flow

I worked at Sikorsky full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Sikorsky Support Services Inc (SSSI) morphed into SAM (Sikorsky Aircraft Maintenance) and was a fairly independent, quick moving smaller company, adroit at getting and running small and large govt contracts. It had an entrepreneurial attitude at first, but seemed to lose that in 2009 with a management change.

    Cons

Became almost absurdedly bureaucratic after change in management in 2009. More emphasis on "criossing t's and dotting i's: than doing business. Move to SAP over internal ERP, Deltek did not go well.

    Advice to Management

Nurture good workers, reward them, don't burden them with onerous rules
