    I have been working at Silicon Graphics International full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    High end products are industry leading and innovative
    Direct report manager one of the best I've had in my career.
    Plenty of work with many customers
    Different product mix to work on everyday.

    Cons

    Need more field engineers to keep up with install base and new install base
    Need to update processes and support documentation library.
    Need to new install process for more timely information on shipping and installing and technical end user information.

    Advice to Management

    Upper management needs to remember that Field Engineers see the customer more than Sales and provide the majority of the customer experience. thus customers have a reason to keep buying and trying our gear.
    Keep giving recognition, not just to big sales side of the house. It helps to be seen even trying.

    Pros

    Great culture, people and work/life balance. Good pay and benefits, for the area.

    Cons

    Cash flow, sales and revenue is up and down. It's very dependent on one large customer and government business.

    Advice to Management

    We have people that can do the job, we just need the direction and follow through from the excutive team. Hold the "worker bees" more accountable and give them the responsibility to help move the company forward. SGI used to be "the company to work for," but it seems times have changed.
