    Pros

They hire. They're growing. Minimal experience needed to get in the door. You can get promoted within a year or two.

    Cons

You'll know when you get there.

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to handle a wide array of technologies. Pay is decent if you don't consider all of the off-time you'll work.

    Cons

Horrifically understaffed. Management expects you to be available to work 24/7. Planning and communication are nearly non-existent. Everything is an emergency. Incompleteness and mistakes are dealt with harshly, but adequate time to build and test is seldom available. General morale of the IT department is low, and gossip/bickering within the department is endemic.

    Advice to Management

Stop staffing a 24/7 media operation with a single shift of 8-hour employees. Replace IT management with a CIO that has experience managing and organizing a large enterprise. Establish incentives for off-time work such as comp-time and telecommuting.
