I have been working at Skechers U.S.A. full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Pay was great and building was well maintained, clean with visually pleasing surroundings and a convenient cafe just for their employees.

Cons

Everything else. People in charge are unwholesome, mischievous and greedy with no social responsibility. They do not care about their employees and working hard will not be enough to keep your job. They make you feel disposable and they want you to know it. Trying to scare you into working harder is their strategy. You are constantly judged and made fun of behind your back. People get laid off left and right just because. The list goes on...

Advice to Management

They need better company culture. Be professional and don't curse at your employees. We are human not robots.

I worked at Skechers U.S.A. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great location, especially if you live in the South Bay area. People (besides management) are great.

    Cons

It is a horrendously bad work environment. Especially in the Advertising Department. Management treats employees poorly. Management is unreasonable, illogical and acts in an extremely unprofessional manner. IT is the only department with solid management, skills and understanding of work-life balance.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better. Behave in a more professional manner. Create a better work environment for your employees. Offer more room for growth.

"Friendly work environment but very little opportunity for advancement and appreciation for hard work."

    Pros

Casual work environment, friendly peers, and big company name for your resume (esp for recent graduates).

    Cons

Bad pay, very little appreciation for hard work, and no room for advancement. Work is very methodical and employees are not given an opportunity to offer their opinions to make work more innovative and efficient. Everything from systems to work practices are very old and outdated.

    Advice to Management

Give more appreciation to employees who put in hard, long hours. Promote a working style that stresses innovation rather than continuing to stress systematic thinking. The over emphasis on everything being systematic is not only frustrating employees but is also holding back the company. Also all departments could really use an IT Audit to finally make work more efficient rather than unnecessarily tedious.
