Pros

Slalom is a great place to get started in consulting. The consultants are good people and some of the management folks really do care about the consultants.

Cons

Does not have an option for consulting as a 1099. The management team is always saying to come forward with a good idea that is well founded and we will support your efforts to building a case for a new practice or a new initiative. But what they say and what they do are two completely different things.

Advice to Management

The Frat House mentality is not a way to run a business. Be professional with your consultants and you will earn their respect.

    Pros

At Slalom you can choose to work about as much or as little as you'd like. There is a lot of flexibility to move between groups and projects and to expand your experience in a variety of different roles.

    Cons

The work load can sometimes be a bit much. Even with recruiting efforts in overdrive, hiring doesn't seem to be keeping pace with the growth in new projects and clients.

    Advice to Management

The current recruiting model needs to be overhauled to better target new quality consultants.
