No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Sleepy's full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

freedom to chart your own financial course to a certain degree.

Cons

1.) hours are too long...the commitment that you make to working for Sleepy's will leave with little to no time to do much else. (you have the potential to earn more money working a showroom alone versus working with another sales person)-- In that case 10am -9pm.

2.) haggling with customers over price.

3) Not all locations (showrooms) where you work are equal in terms of traffic or potential consumer. Some places stores are dead..dead..its slow death if you at one of these locations for days on end.

4.) You biggest competition are other sleepy's locations some of which are only a block or two away.
5.) Company takes cost consciousness to a new level.

Advice to Management

Some of the management team are excellent...very knowledgeable regarding products, sales and going the extra mile to help the sales force. Some these people have sound organizational skills as well..Others aren't that solid and just micro manage and try to see who they can claw to get ahead..

I have been working at Sleepy's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They don't believe in micromanaging. Most to the DMs and RMs are quite likable. The training they provide is really good.

    Cons

Sitting alone in a showroom for eleven hours a day five days a week is really draining. The drawer is a death trap. Beyond that I signed up to be a mattress salesman not a used car salesman. I also expected to be paid for selling mattresses not sitting in a showroom 11 hours a day, five days a week just staring at the walls and playing Angry Birds.

    Advice to Management

Close down half your stores and let the people in the remaining ones have a chance to make a living. Also have better prices so we're not ridiculously out priced by our ccompetitors.
