I worked at Sleepy's full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Great company culture and family atmosphere.
Great corporate facility, including an on-site gym.
Great corporate top management.

Cons

Salaries for sales and corporate employees could be more competitive.
Sales management needs more professional training.

Advice to Management

Pick your niche and go with it. Sleepy's spends way too much time trying to figuring out its identity and how it can overtake the entire industry. With mindset, they tend to lose their roots on what made the organization so successful in the first place. Instead of building stronger relationships within their current communities, it appears that they are only interested in becoming a "national" brand and expanding into newer markets.

I have been working at Sleepy's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    strong commission / bonus structure.

    Cons

long hours ( as a full time mattress prof. you could be scheduled 60 hours in 1 week), not all locations see good traffic.

    Advice to Management

find a fair way to keep sales staff at current income levels and only have them work 40 hours a week. Give extra compensation to those stuck in slower locations so they don't starve.

I have been working at Sleepy's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    low cost healthcare
you cab do as you want because upper management doesn't care

    Cons

    very micro managed
double standards by that I mean one salesperson was giving draw forgivness 2x and no one else was
promoting people to management that are imcompent
extremely long hrs no family life
they have a huge selection of beds to sell however corporate has changed the cliffs on the beds so if you can't stay within the tier you loose big $$$$
management talks about other mps behind their back
this is the most unorganized company I have every worked for. they want you to take every deal at all cost. However when you do the only person that wins is management . the mp will make nothing .
If your late opening the stores and several mps are management does nothing.
management will tell you anything to shut you up and keep you quiet .
promotions are giving to people who are YES SIR people
Giving sign on bonuses to people with little to no experience in the field because they are desperate for breathing bodies

    Advice to Management

how can you sleep at night when your staff is starving
help your employess have a better life to work balance
