Pros
The Chicago based team was a wonder team and unit. Focusing on the R&D work, we made massive improvements and advances. Could have been a really exciting product and team.
Cons
CEO gave 10-day notices of shutting Chicago HQ down, not much time to adjust. Teams based overseas added difficulty to work completion and seemed to spend more time waiting on overseas teams to complete their work than actually completing work. R&D was constantly under fire from overseas mistakes. You were not allowed to voice opinions because they were too worried about feelings rather than work integrity; too worried about being friends than making their product. Heavy micromanagement. Referred to de-facto managers as "team lead" which resulted in very poor task communication and task ownership from management level. CEO would only use communication channels to chastise employees directly with lengthy messages. Never documented compliments or congratulations. Built up documentation tailored to portray employees in negative perception to allow easy grounds for dismissal without contradiction.
