Pros

Compensation is fair, people are friendly, industry is exciting.

Cons

Constantly seems like we're putting out fires.

Training seems limited to internal existing methodologies vs out side the box solutions and new skills.

Advice to Management

More time and focus needs to be spent on how competitive advantages can be applied outside of the Walmart relationship to become a leader in other asset classes, or business models.

    Very competitive environment where ideas are shared to bring your best to the forefront

    Hard work brings value across multiple teams in a collabrative effort to develop retail shopping centres

    Cons

    It gets so busy at times we don't get a chance to evaluate how we can do things better on a corporate level

    Spend more time on lessons learned to streamline processes and thus do things faster, better and with less effort

    Pros

    There are some good people to work with who you can learn from
    Decent training is provided for most positions
    Financial educational assistance provided

    Cons

    Absolutely awful culture
    Long hours are expected every day
    Taking your vacation is frowned upon and a frustrating process
    Work life balance isn't possible if you want to have a future there
    They feel they own you
    Half hearted attempts at things like fitness programs fall short of useful
    Salary is not competitive
    No pension or long term incentives
    Benefits offered are the bare minimum and have been scaled back in recent years
    Very few opportunities to move up
    Management spends an absurd amount of time babysitting grown men and women
    Degrading attempts to blame others is the norm
    Favouritism and nepotism are rampant
    Be prepared to be scolded for what others are commended for - double standards are ridiculous
    Everyone is in a constant state of panic for what inevitably turns out to be nothing urgent at all
    No opportunities to actually make decisions or use common sense
    Essentially a sweat shop where you're expected to be quiet for as long as humanly possible and do mindless work

    Advice to Management

    Rethink everything. People, processes, policies, culture. Everything.
