Pros

The opportunity to learn about the dental field because is immense because the clinics are always so busy and at times you can learn both front and back office duties,

Cons

Understaffed, lack of promotion, clinic mentality

Advice to Management

I advice the management to consider the value of their employees work; the turnover in the dental field is so great and it should not have to be.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Smile Brands full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

CEO and CFO are a one-two punch of authentic leadership and compliment each other very well. CEO sets the tone, vision, and energy and CFO sets the pace of execution. Company culture is compelling and real, down to the front line employees. I have not found a hint of phoniness and the culture is the clear competitive advantage.

    Cons

It is both a strength and a weakness that vast majority of leadership have very deep DSO industry experience. On one hand, the experience drives a level of confidence, resolve, and certainty of direction; on the other hand, it can foster a lack of diversity in ideas or operational/organizational innovation. Pockets of hubris exist.

    Advice to Management

Tremendous company with a strong leadership, a winning culture and business model. The existing culture is more than strong enough to withstand some challenges to biases that exist so embrace those opportunities as they will only strengthen the business. Also, in a highly interconnected but functionally aligned support structure be mindful of organizational barriers that impede or slow down execution. Deliberately work to clarify roles, processes, and resource allocation in service of delivering Smiles for Everyone.
