Current Employee - Trainer in Vista, CA
Current Employee - Trainer in Vista, CA

Pros

This is a really fun place to work as a trainer because it is like your own personal fitness studio.

Cons

It is a very low volume club. Thus, as a trainer, you have to work your butt off to get the existing clients to sign up.

Advice to Management

It would be a good idea to train everyone in the club on everything so that everyone can sell and work as a team.

    Pros

Each franchise is independently owned and operated, but the owners at the gyms I work at are fantastic. Couldn't ask for more caring bosses.

    Cons

Little support from corporate. I considered buying into a Snap Fitness, but have heard plenty of horror stories. It seems like every business decision made is in favor of the corporate office and to the detriment of franchises. The 30 day trial program has improved with the automatic rollover, but the whole concept is based on getting more money to corporate. Franchise fees are absurd, and more and more Snap Fitness locations are going out of business in my area. These failed businesses hurt the brand reputation, and every location takes a hit.

    Pros

    Relationship with members and staff.

    Cons

Owners are useless - you'll have to deal with a lack of professionalism and their own "unique" way of running a business. No benefits/insurance. Mistreatment and having to listen to them whine and have fits over nothing. They gossip about members and staff - and speak very ill of past employees. Prepare to be slandered if you leave!

    Advice to Management

Value your employees, stop acting like teenagers and leave your personal bull at home.
