Pros

Good company, not bad overall environment. Very highly ranked International Company (looks good on Resume).

Related departments (i.e. Ops - FO and Legal) work fairly close together in order to resolve issues. Gives good opportunity for exposure.

Cons

Recently too much Paris oversight -> Daily + Weekly + Monthly + Semi Annual reports.

-Limited chances for mobility or growth if you are not French.

Advice to Management

-Management should offer to assist in resolving issues within the team instead of placing blame.
-Try to be better involved in the day to day activities before making decisions.
-Also understand that not everyone can be perfect 100% of the time...pesonal life at times spills into the work place....were not robots, were people!

    Pros

    Good worklife balance.
All technologies exist in different groups.
Hopefully they will realise that they need to starting recognising talent even if they are not french and promote them.

    Cons

Technology wise best practices not followed.
    Talent unrecognised hence not retained.
    Good Work not appreciated.
Just come and do stuff thats asked

    Advice to Management

Recognise smart people within the firm even if they are not french. They can help the Bank grow. Retain smart people.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Good work/life balance with reasonable hours.
    Good benefits
Vacation policy (five weeks after five years of service)
Work environment and Coworkers are usually friendly

    Cons

Two tier system - promotions and management spots are given first to expatriates, regardless of experience and skills.
The Paris bureaucracy spews a steady stream of forms, status reports, processes, and KPIs. Powerpoint skills are highly valued.
Lip service given to career development

    Advice to Management

There are mixed messages on the future of the NY branch. Be clear and honest on its direction. The new management team talks about being global. The management org chart continues to be less global.
