Pros

WFH Offers 401k, but no matching This was once was great company to work for with really talented individuals across the board- no longer the case It was a paycheck and they did pay on time

Cons

Culture of Fear, Mistrust, and Disrespect: When anyone tries to ask question or provide opinions that do not directly align with the leadership team they are shut down and shut out. Misogynistic Behavior: There is a clear level of disrespect, especially to female employees who are in senior roles or have more experience, vs. their male counterparts, and there is clearly a "Boys Club" within Social Native that encourages this misogynist behavior. Strong, intelligent female employees who ask questions are labeled as difficult and "not a good fit". This has created a culture where experienced voices (especially female) are ignored or minimized Demoralizing Leadership Style: the new leader of the revenue team has no idea how to manage more senior employees, and speaks to everyone on the team as if they have no experience and in a degrading manner. He also has a clear track record of taking credit for the successes of the team (using the I pronoun often when talking about accomplishments) but blaming the team that works for him for any shortcoming or misses. Unclear Expectations for Success: Employees are told they are failing based on KPIs that are not built in any sort of data (historical or otherwise) and there is a clear misunderstanding of our marketplace and product. There is clearly no ability for growth or mobility within the team, and no attempt to understand an individual's strengths, weaknesses, and personal career growth. Lack of Vision: The leadership team does not bother to understand their customer, the social ecosystem, or how brand work in general. They are still pushing agendas that were old in 2015 and take no action to learn what is actually relevant and compelling. The product also has no innovations or even critical updates needed to stay relevant for clients. I was at Social Native for four years and the only changes to the platform were cosmetic only. Bottom Line- I don't recommend working here and especially not on the Revenue team unless you are fresh out of college and just looking for some quick experience. Even then, not sure this would be my first recommendation.

Pros

Great team and in office 4/5 days a week. The team is fairly small so there’s access to CEO and higher ups with ease. The office is in Culver City which is great

Cons

I wouldn’t call it a con but I would say it’s a place where you would have to love what you do.

Pros

Interesting industry, get to work with platform partners

Cons

I went into Social Native like most current or ex employees having read the reviews and deciding to be optimistic. Once I started, I realized that the reviews had not been exaggerated and in fact, may have been holding back. I've never worked at a company where leadership is praised for putting individuals on the spot and reprimanding them in front of a group. Where employees were told to actively lie to clients under the premise that "that's just how things work". We were encouraged to hire people and have them leave their jobs for promises of emerging tech, industry knowledge and a leadership team that will show them the way just to turn around and fire them when they didn't hit certain standards within 30 days (or less). Working at Social Native is actually scary because you start to believe that these are normal operating standards of business. However, being on the other side I can tell you that this is absolutely not normal and I encourage anyone who is thinking about joining to reconsider. I hope that reading these reviews is cause for reflection of how things are run at Social Native.
