Pros

SocialChorus provides a great opportunity to challenge yourself and learn with a group of talented, driven people. Employees are constantly teaching and pushing each other to grow and learn more about start ups, business, and technology. The company rewards hard work, but it also encourages its employees to balance work and life.

Cons

If you need a lot of guidance, this may not be the best company for you. SocialChorus has a lot of resources for those who have their own drive and direction, but it provides little guidance.

Advice to Management

The company's vision for its product and culture for its employees are its strongest assets. Make sure they stay that way!

I have been working at SocialChorus full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Incredibly intelligent, dedicated (& fun) team - Sales & Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Mgmt. are all full of fantastic people that make each other better.

Career/growth opportunities are there if you go after them.

Upper management is transparent and very receptive to everyone's ideas. Speak up, share your thoughts, and you'll do well.

    Cons

There's lots to do, and you need to be self-motivated to get it done. You won't be micro-managed, which is awesome, but you also won't get away with slacking off.

    Advice to Management

Keep the company culture and collaborative environment strong.

I worked at SocialChorus full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - SocialChorus had a great team of hardworking and smart people. I always enjoyed working with everyone on a day to day basis - which helped make stressful/busy days better.
    - It is a "promote within" culture which enables and encourages growth at any level. Hard work is recognized and rewarded.
    - If you want to make a significant impact on the work, culture, and/or company.... you can.
    - Your opinion/feedback matters; you can have a voice here, if you want.
    - This company will allow you to grow in your area(s) of interest, and help you find the right fit for you within the existing structure

    Cons

As with any start up, there will be long hours and growing pains, so if you are not willing or capable of being flexible and rolling with the punches, this might not be the place for you. During my time at SC, several roles wore many hats. If you need a defined role that stays within certain parameters and has specific responsibilities, this is probably not the best fit for you. (In my opinion, this is a pro because you get to learn several different skill sets).

    Advice to Management

Since there are several junior team members, a better process for on-boarding and training new hires would help steer in the right direction and set them up for success. Even in busy times, the investment is well-worth it and would probably save headaches or turnover in the long run. As often as things are changing - try to be consistent with as much as possible (direction, management, elevator pitch, etc)
