Approves of CEO

Pros

If you are a Linux Person Tech or sales the opportunities are great. Anyone else don't expect much.

Cons

No appreciation for hard working employees with career minded goals

Advice to Management

Pay attention to the fact that even though we may have worked for the previous EV1 owners it doesn't mean we don't deserve a chance to succeed and be promoted within.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at SoftLayer full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good training opportunities, certification courses are paid for in full upon completion (with pass).
Job can be challenging, is easy to take a back seat as some do, but is also possible to push yourself and learn a lot.

    Cons

Very poor management. Manager frequently ignores staff, from things such as holiday requests to reports of serious misconduct.
Rotating shift work and night shift is statistically proven to reduce life expectancy.

    Advice to Management

Hire managers who can fulfil their basic responsibilities and not ones who threaten their best staff when they report misconduct carried out by the more liked but less competent colleagues. We all know which manager this is.
