Doesn't Recommend
Negative Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Sony Pictures Entertainment full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

You can come and go as you please and you won't be micromanaged. You're hawking movies - it's not life or death and the culture reflects that.

Cons

Favoritism abounds at the expense of competence. There is no transparency in the promotion process. Pay is low and Analyst retention is nonexistent. People defect at the earliest opportunity.

Advice to Management

We know Netflix is bleeding us dry. Don't obfuscate and play favorites.

I worked at Sony Pictures Entertainment full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great work/life balance, many perks like gym, free movies and cheap good food. Also formed great friendships, that will last forever. Nice bonuses and many days off.

    Cons

Too many people without any true input or direction. It took longer to get things done, than it needed. Many departments don't work as much together as they should. The company is bloated and many of the "wrong" people are getting fired.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. If they are expects in a certain field, trust them.

I worked at Sony Pictures Entertainment full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Smaller studio. Friendlier Environment. Diverse Employees

    Cons

Lack of a strategic vision by senior management. Very little follow through.

    Advice to Management

Need more diverse ideas for our content. We seem to just rely on sequels or remaking old content
