Pros
The best coworkers I've had in my life, and it can truly feel like a community. COVID has made that more difficult, but everyone has done their best to remain centered and compassionate in hard times. When the office is open, it's a great space and having all the dogs around is wonderful. The benefits are strong for the company's size, with matching 401K, subsidized healthcare costs, decent PTO after you pass the first year mark, and profit sharing - all offered to part-time employees, too. Producing and marketing products that bring good into the world is very fulfilling, and our customers love us. Flexible schedules are an option under most managers.
Cons
Almost every single team is understaffed and underpaid, making it near impossible to take advantage of the work/life balance the company loves to emphasize. If you're anything less than director or VP level, expect to be compensated well under market rate, and the attitude from management if you protest is "you should feel lucky to work here." Raises and internal promotions are practically nonexistant due to a "salary squad" that has far too much power and is focused solely on costs instead of factoring in talent retention. The founder/CEO can (and does) make huge decisions without input from the rest of the leadership team, causing chaos and a culture of fear. HR is disorganized and there's very little in terms of clear onboarding and training - what you get highly depends on who your manager is and how much bandwidth they have to get you up to speed.
