I worked at South Bay Community Services part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Good support staff, a feeling of "we're in this together" between the clinicians, can work part or full time, provide trainings.

Cons

A LOT of pressure to keep and add client hours, having to eat in your car in order to make minimum hour demand, do not pay gas mileage, a high rate of team members turnover, a lot of no-shows

Advice to Management

Understand that it's wrong for both the client and the clinician to have the therapist see 8 clients a day. A sure way to lead to burnout.

I worked at South Bay Community Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    excellent training during probation period
    team members helpful
highest FFS compensation rate in area
    provides outreach services

    Cons

supervision focused on billable hours during probation period (3 months)
    60-70% outreach /on the road
    large number of no show/cancellations
difficult to balance life/work/billable hour minimum

    Advice to Management

assist staff in maintaining billable hours and provide some clinical supervision during first 3 months. I made the same mistakes in paper work because my supervisor did not review my intakes for 3 months. offer compensation for "free training" since billable hours are not possible when at training

I worked at South Bay Community Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Had a few nice coworkers.

    Cons

Management only cares about hours. Was impossible to focus supervision on clients. No respect for clinicians. Terrible client care record.

    Advice to Management

Try caring about clients more than hours, as we are supposed to be a mental health care company. Pay clinicians better.
