I have been working at Southern Utah University full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

proximity to the outdoors and national parks

    Cons

Administration looks out for themselves and themselves alone. We have had significant gains in administrative lines - with very nice salaries. Faculty and staff - very modest increases. The new LRT has no provision for merit based pay increases. With the advent of the new 3-year degree = 50% increase in workload (one extra term) but a 30% increase in pay if we accept the 50% increase in workload.

    Advice to Management

Please find ways to fund student-faculty research. Please promote the education of your students, opportunities for faculty to become engaged in their academic discipline, rather than looking to bolster your own aspirations of political office. Please do not tell faculty & staff that this is only a stepping stone for your career. At least administration is honest in their broader aspirations.

I worked at Southern Utah University part-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

At least you’ll make $8 an hour

      Cons

Pay is minimum, not a good chance for increases. Deal mostly with upset customers and university staff. Large amount of work for little pay.
