    Pros

    - Casual Dress
    - Friendly environment, most people are really great people
    - Values driven company
    - Great product you can believe in
    - People have good-will in most situations
    - The Technology contributors know how to dig deep and get things done.

    Cons

    - Slow to make decisions
    - When decisions are made, there's a rush to action
    - Weak employees (including Leaders) linger, difficult to manage out
    - Challenging to develop from within
    - A lot of hurry up and wait
    - Technology department is positioned to overpromise consistently

    Advice to Management

    Technology Department Specific -Communicate more often with your teams, tie the work to the values/sustainability of the company to give the work more meaning, promote from within, see that delivery leaders, technical leaders and people leaders can be mutually exclusive ... be mindful that putting the right leader in the wrong role can cause major problems.

    I have been working at Southwest Airlines full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Family within a family, people bond together when there has been a loss of an employee. Company does try at times to keep the company spirit.

    Cons

    We have lost our company spirit, training lacks as it should be, an e-mail is not sufficient. Communication within departments is lacking.

    Advice to Management

    Take the time with all of your employees not just a chosen few.
